TechMeetup.space – Event Booking Terms & Community Guidelines

TechMeetup.space organises local technology community events designed to bring people together to learn, network, and share ideas. These events are often supported by our partners who help make the community possible.
You can expect us to respect your privacy and to protect your personal data. By booking or attending an event hosted or managed by TechMeetup.space you agree to to these Event Booking Terms and Community Guidelines.
1. Event Registration
When you register for an event, we may collect personal information which is used to manage the event. The information includes:Your name, job title, company name (optional) and/or LinkedIn profile URL
along with your email address and phone number.
2. Event Partners
TechMeetup.space events are made possible through the support of our event co-organisers, speakers and sponsors, collectively known as our partners. If you choose to opt in during registration, we may share the following information with our partners to help facilitate professional networking within the community:
Your name, job title, company name (if provided) and LinkedIn profile URL
Attendees who opt in may be included in an attendee networking directory shared with other attendees, speakers and event partners after the event.
IMPORTANT:
The information outlined above will only be shared with our partners if you have explicitly opted in.
Partners receiving attendee information are responsible for complying with applicable data protection and marketing laws.
The attendee directory is intended for professional networking purposes and must not be used for unsolicited bulk marketing.
MORE IMPORTANTLY:
Your email address and phone number are not shared with our partners.
3. Photography and Video
TechMeetup.space events are generally recorded with photography, videography and/or audio, collectively known as recordings. Recordings may be used for:Community updates, social media posts, Website content and /or the promotion of future TechMeetup.space events.
By attending an event you acknowledge that you may appear in photographs or recordings taken during the event.
. If you would prefer not to be in the recordings, please let an organiser know when you arrive and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request.
4. Community Conduct
TechMeetup.space aims to create welcoming and inclusive communities. All attendees are expected to:Treat others with respect, behave professionally, and any action that could be construed as harassment, or use any inappropriate language.
Organisers reserve the right to remove attendees from an event if behaviour is disruptive or inappropriate.
5. Data Protection and Privacy
TechMeetup.space processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. We use attendee information only to:Manage event registrations, communicate about events, support community networking and share attendee profile details with our partners only where explicit consent has been provided by you.
We do not sell personal data.
6. Data Retention
We retain attendee information only for as long as necessary to:Operate and manage community events, maintain community participation records, and meet our legal obligations
7. Your Data Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:Request access to your personal data, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your data, withdraw consent for data sharing, and object to certain data processing activities.

8. Our Right to Refuse
The events that we host are for an intended, committed and respectful audience. We therefore retain the right to cancel your booking or refuse your event entry should:You are not the intended audience, and / or have a history of not-showing up, and / or have previously disrespected someone in our community, be that a partner or audience member.
9. No Liability
The purpose of the content presented at the events is to incite further learning. The content is not and must not be construed as consultancy advice.TechMeetup.space and its partners are not responsible for direct or indirect loss to you as a result of content presented at the event, or from refusal of entry, and or save where legally culpable, to any injury caused whilst in the venue of the event.
