Privacy, in plain language.
This notice explains what personal data is involved when you use this website, contact the team, manage events as an organizer, or book tickets for a meetup.
TechMeetup.Space respects your privacy. This public site does not use advertising trackers or first-party analytics. Personal information is requested when you contact us, opt in to updates, book tickets, or sign in as an organizer.
Who is responsible
TechMeetup.Space is the controller responsible for this website. Its principal place of business is No.1 O'Connell Street Lower, Dublin, D01 TX31. Privacy questions, unsubscribe requests and rights requests can be sent to team@techmeetup.space.
You may also raise a concern with Ireland’s Data Protection Commission ↗.
What we collect and why
The contact form asks for your first name, last name, email address and mobile number. You may also provide a LinkedIn URL, technology interests and a message. We use this to respond to enquiries (groups, speakers, partnerships) and — only if you tick the optional updates box — to send occasional email about Dublin tech meetups.
If you book tickets on an event page, or event software collects registration details such as name and email on its own systems. TechMeetup.Space does not store attendee ticket data in its own database.
Meetup organizers who sign in provide an email address and password (verified through our Partners Hub). Optional one-time passcodes may be emailed for sign-in. Organizer sessions use cookies on organizer pages only.
Our hosting provider may process standard technical logs (IP address, requested URL, browser information, timestamp) to operate and secure the website.
External services & tickets
The contact form is hosted by our CRM embed on this page. The CRM receives the information you enter and provides the security-code image.
Event listings and ticket booking use booking software. On many event pages you can book without leaving this site via the widget; other community sites may send you to their own pages. The booking software processes ticket and attendee data under its own privacy notice.
Organizer accounts are authenticated via our Partners Hub service. Map, social, group and partner links may take you to other third-party websites.
Those services process information under their own privacy notices and may transfer data outside the European Economic Area using appropriate safeguards (for example, standard contractual clauses where required). Review their notices before submitting information.
Legal basis, sharing and retention
We process enquiries to respond to your request and for our legitimate interest in operating the community. Email updates are sent only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing team@techmeetup.space. Ticket bookings are handled by the booking software for the purpose of running the event. Organizer accounts are processed to provide event-management access.
We do not sell personal data. Information may be shared with the service providers above, or where required by law.
As a guide we aim to keep: contact/lead records for up to 24 months after last meaningful contact (unless a longer relationship continues); organizer account data for as long as the account is active, then delete or anonymise within a reasonable period after closure; hosting security logs for a short operational window; and one-time passcodes only until they expire. The booking software retains attendee records under its own retention rules.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data; object to processing; or withdraw consent. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Where data is held by a third party we will coordinate with those providers as needed.
To exercise a right or unsubscribe from updates, email team@techmeetup.space. We aim to respond within one month, subject to the extensions allowed by law for complex requests.
